THE DISPOSABLE MAN – The film
The duet portrays a gladiator arena of populism, kitsch, bragging, social herding, false self-awareness, where everything is built on reputation and snobbery. Whoever enters this arena, takes on a role of a character, twists it, plays with it, makes it explode. The Disposable Man is an explosive game of movements, sound, gestures, attempts at awkward and powerful encounters. In this current atmosphere, it may seem as if continuous production, the accumulation of projects and the social demonstration of being constantly on the move, is the key to satisfaction. This duet mirrors my personal language as a choreographer. As a creator, I have been investigating burnout, over exhaustion, fatigue, the society of tiredness since 2020. I combine humor and self-irony that awakens the moral and aesthetic longing for a better life as well as the universal human need for compassion. The live performance was recorded by Zorán Varga (HU) at Sín Art Center, Budapest on 22.08.2022.
